Snyder (she/her)
socasnyder@gmail.com
writer, dramaturg, gothic heroine

Raised on a steady diet of classic literature, my mother's love of musicals, and my father's sci-fi/fantasy media, I grew up marinating in history, theatricality, and speculative fiction. These things have all deeply shaped the way I view and make art. I'll be memorizing a Shakespeare monologue one minute, then babbling excitedly about Star Wars: The Clone Wars the next, with no change in enthusiasm. Now, I am a Philadelphia-based writer, dramaturg, and wanna-be-time-traveler. I am at my happiest and most creative when I'm diving into early modern dramaturgy or writing about characters who express themselves through passion, morbidity, and very specific word choice. Sometimes I write things grounded very deeply in my personal life experiences and sometimes I write about gods and vampires (and sometimes both options coincide). My writing is eclectic and jumps around from genre to genre, but the two things you are most likely to find in a Snyder play are blood and lesbians.
